So are their supporters.

After the dismal season Celtic is having so far (yes, better as of late) and the all-important 10 points they find themselves behind Rangers, the Hoops did what needed to be done. In what could/should be the best, most incredible transfer window to date for the Scottish giant, Celtic seemed poised and dedicated to chase down Rangers and claim the SPL title once again.

The most impressive signing of this transfer window was surely the Ireland international and Tottenham skipper, Robbie Keane. Keano supported Celtic as a boy and looks poised to be in the starting XI immediately. Keane joins the Hoops on loan till the end of the season.

Another recent signing was striker Diomansy Kamara from Fulham. Like Keane, Kamara wasn’t getting the playing time he wanted, so a switch to Celtic seemed to make sense. Also, like Keane, Kamara comes on loan till the season’s end.

Recently the Glasgow side added a few defenders to shore up the annual back-line problems that Celtic is known for. Well, they added another.

Left back, Edson Braafheid, joins Celtic on loan from the German powerhouse, Bayern Munich. Braafheid, like Jos Hooiveld and Thomas Rogne will make the Celtic’s back-line more durable.

The Hoops made one more signing today, Paul Slane, from Motherwell. Motherwell were hoping to sign the product of their academy but Slane and the Scottish team couldn’t see eye-to-eye on a contract. The midfielder joins Celtic on a four-year deal.

Scott McDonald was the only Celtic player to move out on deadline day. The Australian international and longtime Celt, makes his way to Middlesbrough like so many former Hoops. McDonald is there with former teammates Willo Flood, Chris Killen, Stephen McManus and Barry Robson, who all moved out within the last month.

All these moves make it superbly simple – Celtic are in the hunt, they’re serious and they want it now.
